First Courses
These are typically sit-down appetizers and since we don't normally do this everyday, they tend to be for more
formal meals with guests. That makes presentation and novelty major factors.

Highlights
There are some pretty spectacular dishes here, but but both Steph and I agree that
our favourites are the Cold Scallop Appetizer, Jalapeno Corn Crab Cakes, and
Carpaccio.
The scallops have a very delicate and unusual taste and, if you are lucky to cook them just right, a lovely
texture.
The crab cakes are very different and the spicyness of the pickled jalapeno make the dish.
The carpaccio is a great appetizer. It's good to look at, delicate to eat, and tastes great.
You will probably not even notice that the beef is raw! We have two versions of this traditional
dish: creamy or balsamic. Hard to choose sometimes.
