Salads
Even if the are intended as a stand alone first course, many salads and dressings suit only a limited
number of entrée recipes. This is the case for many of the recipes in this Section, but not
all. Please refer to the Notes section for suggestions or limitations.

Highlights
Albert's Potato Salad is one we learned from an Austrian friend at our cottage at Sylvan Lake, Alberta
in the '70’s. Albert would invite all his neighbours over once a year and serve up a feast of this salad to
accompany a very wicked (and very good) pork schnitzel.
One of my favourites is the Stacked Caesar: it goes well with steak and almost any kind of beef and is
served as a first course.
We have Ding's Coleslaw a lot because it is a) so good and b) goes with all kinds of food (especially
Kansas City Ribs!).
Lastly, a plug for my Potato Salad. I love potato salads generally and this one comes
from a lot of experimentation to get the flavours and textures that I like best.
I hope that you like it too.
