Highlights
Brunches
Eggs Benedict has always been my favourite breakfast. We don't have it often because the
Hollandaise is a bit too rich to eat often. This one is typical of many that you might have and, as
you'd expect, totally dependent on the Hollandaise and the eggs.
If you like Eggs Benny but don't want to make Hollandaise, try Eggs Benedict Smith Style, which
includes my version of mock Hollandaise. It's not as good as the real thing, but it's dead easy to make!
Sandwiches
A sandwich can be simple or the most creative, tasty, and satisfying food of all. Lunch can be
the best meal of the day. (We also make some of these recipes for a quick dinner).
The Grilled Marinated Flank Steak Sandwiches are fabulous: complex, great texture, and wonderful
flavour. And they are not hard to make, particularly if you have left over flank steak.
Turkey Burgers and Tuna Burgers are both great recipes. Great tastes and fun to eat.
Drinks
You just have to try the Blue Margarita! It's not only the best looking drink ever, it is
addictively good. We usually have this as a before dinner drink with tortilla chips, Guacamole, and
salsa when we have a Mexican dinner. It's a treat.
Condiments
Our recipe for Triple-Cranberry Sauce is easy to make and just that little bit better than traditional
Cranberry Sauce.
Sauces
Most of these are supporting actors in our meals, but the Hollandaise Sauce here is worth looking
at. It's difficult to make because you have to add just the right amount of butter, but
once you have done it a couple of times and get the idea, it's a very simple recipe. And, of course,
Hollandaise is a fantastic sauce for so many meals, not just Eggs Benedict.
